Get to Know UCR Undergraduate Admissions |
|
With a new year underway and admissions notifications going out in just a few weeks, this is a busy and exciting time in our office. Our counselors are planning trips to schools and events throughout California, across the United States, and around the world to meet with newly admitted students. Our events team is putting the finishing touches on Highlander Day, our annual open house and admitted student celebration.
In this edition, we're excited to introduce you to one member of the Undergraduate Admissions team. Mandy Loh is the assistant director of international and out-of-state recruitment and evaluation, and a UCR alumna. She earned a B.Sc. in Banking and Finance from the University of London and an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration and Policy from UCR, and has worked at UCR for five years. She answers a few questions about her work in UCR Undergraduate Admissions.
What do you like best about working with international students?
The passion that these international students have! They speak so fondly of UC Riverside and are willing to do so much to give back to the school. Many of them act as student ambassadors/volunteers for us.
What advice do you have for international students interested in applying to UCR?
Don't be afraid to reach out to the admissions counselors — ME! We are very approachable and are always answering questions from international students about every step of their college search. Come visit UCR to do a campus tour if you have the opportunity! If you are unable to, we have a virtual 360-degree campus tour that you can also take online!
Why do you think UCR is a great university for international students?
UCR has so many friendly faculty members and staff, and every international student here will feel that they are really welcomed the moment they step foot onto the university. Our campus is also really diverse, hosting students from 88 different countries around the world. It is truly a global community!

We recently sent an email to all applicants with instructions on how to log into their MyUCR accounts. MyUCR is where admissions notifications and financial aid awards will be posted, and where admitted students will receive updates about their admission.
Fall 2020 admissions notifications will be sent out on a rolling basis beginning in early March, so remind your students to log in to their MyUCR accounts before then.
As your students start gathering their transcripts and test scores, just a reminder that we do not accept incomplete transcripts.
Your students can submit their 1-20 application and documents now. UCR sent out an email to international students with details on how they can submit their information.
